Get your school to half! Every day during Waste Reduction Week, involve the whole school in these fun activities to help our youth become environmental leaders and inspire change province-wide.

Monday, October 19
GREEN ME
MONDAY

Raid your closet! Shirts, pants, shoes… wear green to show your support for the environment. The first step to saving our planet is to get people talking about it – and a school full of green will definitely do the trick!
  Tuesday, October 20
COMPOST TUESDAY
Put polluting peels in their place. Take the day to highlight the importance of composting organic waste. Launch a compost program or ramp up participation in your existing one. Organic waste makes up a third of all our waste, so it’s a great way to Get to Half.
  Wednesday, October 21
WASTE-FREE WEDNESDAY
Go waste free! Encourage everyone to pack their lunch in reusable containers, buy in bulk, and bring it all in a reusable lunch bag. Also, avoid individually packaged items that create lots of garbage.

RECYCLING
FRENZY FRIDAY

Beverage Blitz! Collect used beverage containers in a designated area in your school parking lot. Remember to empty all liquids and remove caps and straws before returning to the Green Depot.
